Yesterday, I received an email from a reader…I should say
a devoted reader, because he uses three of my products,
my Powerhouse Omega Formula, my CoQ10 Formula, and
my Joint Formula. He had just come back to his office,
after a visit with his endocrinologist. Let’s call the guy Jack,
for this letter, since I’m sure he’d rather I not reveal his real
Jack was diagnosed with Type II diabetes about 10 years
ago. He never had much success with the programs previous
doctors put him on. A couple of years ago, a note he sent me
was an inspiration for a column called, “Would You Take
Advice From A Fat Nutritionist?” which brought in a ton of mail.
Jack, who is a good sized guy, was sent to a nutritionist who
turned out to be bigger than he was and he wondered why
anybody would listen to her advice. Jack, who is also a very
straight shooter, wondered this out loud in her office, which
got him kicked out. But I’ll tell you…he had a very valid point.
So for years he tried to get control of his blood sugar, without
a lot of success. He was in a business meeting one day and
the talk turned to diabetes. One of the people in the room highly
recommended a specific doctor. Jack made an appointment
and went to see him. He liked the guy and decided to start
seeing him. His second visit revealed that his results were worse
than at the time of his first visit. Jack was again discouraged.
Shortly after his second visit, Jack met a guy who was
on my program. He purchased it:
and started doing some of the things I recommended, in addition
to using my formulas.
A funny thing happened — Jack started losing weight. His
energy level started to pick up and some of his minor aches
and pains disappeared.
But something else happened, too. Following my recommendation
to get rid of, or not eat…packaged food…his blood sugar
started dropping. At first, Jack couldn’t believe it himself.
Instead of waking with a blood sugar level of 180 (very high),
he was waking with a level of 120. (still high…but much better).
Then, he started tweaking his food intake even further, by
reversing how he ate. He had always been a guy who liked
a big dinner. He would eat a light breakfast, a bigger lunch
and an even bigger dinner, with snacks thrown in along the
way, and popcorn, at least 4 times a week.
Jack started eating a big breakfast, a lighter lunch and an
even lighter dinner. He also cut out all food after 7 PM,
which eliminated the popcorn.
His blood sugar dropped even more, into the high 80′s and
When he next saw his endocrinologist, he gave a blood sample…
and the doctor was stunned. He had dropped his A1C level
from 8.2 … to 6.4. The doctor was amazed, but very happy.
He wanted to know how it happened, and Jack told him
about yours truly. “That’s some good advice,” said the
doctor. ”Keep up the outstanding work!”
Now…if only the better half would start listening…but
why press my luck?
I’ll be back tomorrow with more.
With my best wishes for your optimum health,
